SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say they are searching for a suspect involved in an attempted abduction in Scranton.
Scranton Police Department stated they were looking for a Silver Hyundai Elantra with tinted windows. The vehicle was reported stolen from the 500 block of Cedar Avenue and has since been found, but without the suspect involved.
The suspect, a man wearing a black face mask, had attempted abduction in the 500 block of East Elm Street and in front of South Scranton Intermediate School, police say.

The Scranton School District stated the following regarding the incident;
“This morning, there was an attempted abduction reported in the area near South Scranton Intermediate School. As a precaution, families will notice an increased police presence around all school buildings throughout the day. At dismissal, we are asking to pick up students on time and, when possible, walk children home.”
