BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A Bethlehem resident has filed to run in the Democratic primary race for a chance to represent the Lehigh Valley in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Aiden Gonzalez is seeking to run in the Pa. 7th District race, according to a filing with the Federal Election Commission.

The district covers Lehigh, Northampton, and Carbon counties, as well as parts of Monroe County.

Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R) currently holds the seat. He defeated Democratic Rep. Susan Wild in the November election.

Other Democratic candidates that would take him on include: Northampton County Executive Lamont McClure; Carol Obando-Derstine, who worked as a PPl supervisor; Ryan Crosswell, a former federal prosecutor; Lehigh County Controller Mark Pinsley; and retired Bethlehem firefighter and President of the Professional Fire Fighters Association, Bob Brookes.

Pennsylvania’s primary election is scheduled to take place Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
