Ronald A. Fawcett

OBITUARY

Ronald A. Fawcett, 87, of Ransom Township, died on Saturday at Allied Hospice, Scranton. He was preceded in death by his wife Gaetana “Tina” Dorothy Fawcett, who died in 2022.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Clara Fawcett. He was a 1957 graduate of Johnson Technical. Ron was employed over 30 years by Buranich Enterprises as the driver of school bus #17, a job he truly enjoyed because he loved the children like his own. Throughout the years, he also worked for American Can Company, Pope & Talbot, Keystone College, and Scranton Country Club. Ron was a man who never met anyone he didn’t like. He was a very proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather who was known for his huge hugs.

Surviving are daughters Francine of Ransom Township and Joy Fiorini and husband William of Nicholson; grandchildren Stephanie Yurcho and husband Adam, Frank G. Miller IV and wife Jessica, Victoria Fiorini, and Isabella Fiorini; great grandchildren Henry Francis Miller and Caleb Gordon Miller; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph.

A blessing service will be held on Wednesday at 6 pm at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home from 4 pm until the time of the service.
