The Copley Police Department responded to a recent report of an apparent deceased female who had been found inside of a hotel room on Rothrock Road on Jan. 1, 2026.
Detectives as well as the Summit County Medical Examiner Office had determined that the victim was physically assaulted and received blunt force trauma, and she died as a result of her injuries.
The victim has since been identified as twenty-four-year-old, Shawnna Pasquale, a resident from Erie Pennsylvania.
She was found by a hotel employee, and it is unknown at this time how long she had been deceased within the room.
Her death has been ruled a homicide; the police do not believe that this was a random act and that it was planned. At this time there are no suspects.
No evidence of the crime could be captured on camera; however, they are still reviewing video feed that could have potential leads of the crime.
Police said that Pasquale had been staying at the hotel for about month but was not residing in that room at the time of her death.
