A sweet event and the return of the Pennsylvania Farm Show are among the highlights of the coming weekend.

We all scream for Ice Cream Wars

The sweetest competition in the Lehigh Valley returns to the Da Vinci Science Center in Allentown on Saturday.

Ice Cream Wars is a sweet lesson in chemistry, where Lehigh Valley businesses turn their original recipes into delicious ice cream treats. Vote for your favorite, which will be served at The Udder Bar for a limited time starting in February.

Alvin H. Butz Inc. will defend its two-year championship streak against teams from Aramark, ATAS International Inc., B. Braun, B104, City Center Group, Evonik, Fulton Bank, Lehigh Valley Health Network, PPL, Victaulic and WMFZ-Channel 69.

The event is free for members, or included with general admission.

Check out the latest styles of RVs and campers at the 64th annual Lehigh Valley RV Show, running Friday through Sunday at the Allentown Fairgrounds Agri-Plex.

Explore RVs, meet RV dealers and learn about campgrounds at this annual show. Everything from small campers to class “A” motor homes will be on display both inside and outside.

Tickers at $9 in advance and $10 at the door. Children 12 and under are free, and parking is free.

For thrill-seekers

Indoor auto racing returns to the PPL Center in Allentown with the Ironton Global Allentown Indoor Auto Race Friday and Saturday.

The event kicks off the 2026 Indoor Auto Racing Series for the ninth consecutive year. Whereas most races take place on specific race tracks, the Indoor Auto Racing Championship events take place on the cement floor of an arena, putting short-track racing action in easy view of spectators.

The two nights of racing are headlined by the TQ Midgets, a specialty-built tubular racing frame with a 750cc motorcycle engine. The Slingshots and Champ Karts will be in action both nights.

The Indoor Auto Racing Championship Fueled by VP Race Fuels kicks off it's 2023 season this Friday and Saturday night at Allentown, PPL Center. There are nearly 50 pre-entries in the headline TQ Midget division and this year's class is deeper in talent than almost any in years past. Steely Dan tribute

Hey Nineteen will perform the music of classic rockers Steely Dan during their show on Saturday at SteelStacks in Bethlehem.

The 11-piece band brings together professional musicians to deliver a high-energy, spot-on Steely Dan performance. Hey Nineteen routinely packs venues up and down the East Coast.

Butter sculpture, milkshakes and more

The 110th Pennsylvania Farm Show opens 10 a.m. Saturday for a weeklong run at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg.

Themed “Growing a Nation,” the 2026 farm show once again will showcase beloved traditions like the 1,000-pound butter sculpture, the Farm Show Food Court and Farm Market, Sheep-to-Shawl, sheep herding, lumberjacking, cow milking, and hundreds of daily competitions and demonstrations. Enjoy live cooking demonstrations at the PA Preferred Culinary Connection and explore more than 1 million square feet of hands-on agricultural education, exhibits and more.
