One person was killed in a crash involving a horse and buggy in Salisbury Township on Tuesday afternoon, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

A state police spokesperson was able to confirm that one person was pronounced dead at the scene, but did not provide further information.

Emergency workers were dispatched about 1:30 p.m. to Strasburg Road/Route 741 near Hoover Road, about 1 mile west of Gap.

The road is closed in both directions, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for information.
