PennDOT maintenance crews will launch 13 road work projects across Lehigh County starting this week, with most work scheduled to run through Friday.

The projects span multiple municipalities and include bridge repairs, pothole patching, crack sealing, drainage work, and brush cutting. Most work will take place during daytime hours from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., though some projects on major highways are scheduled for nighttime hours between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The earliest work begins Sunday, with pothole patching on Interstate 78 East at Exit 49 in Upper Macungie Township. This project will restrict the eastbound lane during overnight hours and is expected to conclude on Monday.

Bridge repair work on Limeport Pike in Upper Saucon Township between Greene Lane and West Saucon Valley Road will begin Monday and continued through Friday. The project will require lane restrictions with flagging during daytime hours.

Several crack sealing projects are scheduled to start throughout the week, affecting roads in Upper Macungie Township, Lowhill Township, Heidelberg Township, Salisbury Township, and Upper Milford Township. Route 100 between Hamilton Boulevard and Route 309 in Upper Macungie Township will see crack sealing work from Wednesday through Friday.

Pothole patching will also take place on Kernsville Road in Lowhill Township and Donats Peak Road in Lynn Township, both running from Monday through Friday.

Two projects are categorized as “other” work: one on Route 22 West in Upper Macungie Township between Route 309 and I-78, scheduled for nighttime hours from Monday through Friday, and another on Park Avenue in North Whitehall Township between Route 873 and Grove Street, set for Tuesday.

Brush cutting work on Route 222 North in Upper Macungie Township between Cetronia Road and Route 100 will not require traffic restrictions and is scheduled from Monday through Friday.

Drainage work will affect Vera Cruz Road in Upper Saucon Township between Hunter Lane and Kozy Korner Road from Monday through Friday, with lane restrictions and flagging in place during daytime hours.

Rain is not expected to cause delays for any of the scheduled projects.
