By now, you’ve likely gotten all of your holiday cards, and some may be more memorable.
Karin Mallett introduces us to a family whose Christmas card really matters.
The Hall Family used to live in the Lehigh Valley – they live out in Ohio now and if you’ve ever received a holiday card from them, you probably remember it.Â
They make the Hall Family Matters Christmas Card. They’ve been sending out the holiday wish on video every year since 2017.
And if the scenes and song seem familiar, that’s because it’s an homage to the sitcom “Family Matters” that ran for 9 seasons from 1989 to 1998.
Instead of the Winslow family and their neighbor with the high waisted pants, Steve Urkel, it’s the Hall Family.
Ric and Andrea Hall and their kids- Madison, Morgan, Mallory, Max and sometimes their dog Murphy – recreate the sitcom intro for their annual Christmas card.
Ric says when the kids were growing up, they would always take a family photo in their matching holiday pajamas and mail them to friends and family along with a traditional Christmas card and letter recapping their year.
But when they moved to Pennsylvania in 2017, they thought it would be fun to record a video.
That’s when the Hall Family Matters video card was born.
The Halls say they’ve always been fans of Family Matters and enjoy the strong, nuclear family with good neighbors that it presents and the moral and positive ending to each episode.Â
When asked what the biggest challenge is for this endeavor every year, Ric said it’s definitely finding matching pajamas that everyone can agree on.Â
