Allentown police seized firearms, cocaine, fentanyl and arrested a 19-year-old man Wednesday morning during a raid.

City Police Captain of Patrol Daniel Gross said the search began around 6 a.m. in the 1200 block of West Chew Street. Allentown’s Police Vice, Emergency Response Team, and patrol obtained a search warrant following an investigation, Gross said.

Police focused their investigation on Zahmir Nevius, who was arrested at the house.

Investigators seized an altered fully-automatic handgun and a handgun with an obliterated serial number. They also recovered cocaine, fentanyl, marijuana and cash, city police said.

Nevius is charged with three counts felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance; felony possession of a firearm with the manufacturer number altered; three counts misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance; and one count misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Linda Vega Sirop, who set bail at $150,000. In lieu of bail, Nevius was taken to the Lehigh County Jail.

There was no attorney information immediately listed in court records for Nevius.

He is due back in court for a preliminary hearing tentatively scheduled for 1:45 Jan. 13 before Sirop.

A judge will then determine if there’s sufficient evidence to send the case toward trial at the Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas.
