A male pedestrian was hurt when he was struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening in Bethlehem, city police said.

City Police Captain William Audelo told lehighvalleylive.com the accident happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. at New Street and East Union Boulevard.

The driver was heading north on New Street and had a green light when the 63-year-old pedestrian entered the roadway, Audelo said.

The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries, which appeared minor, Audelo said.

The pedestrian was determined to be at fault and is being cited in the collision, he said.
