PLAINS TWP. — A Kingston woman is facing theft charges alleging she stole more than $1,600 while employed at Mohegan Pennsylvania casino.
The Pennsylvania State Police Gaming Enforcement Unit charged Christina Provatopoulos, 41, of South Gates Avenue, with 10 misdemeanor counts of theft. The charges were filed with District Judge Joseph Spagnuolo in Plains Township and mailed to Provatopoulos. A preliminary hearing is scheduled on March 25 in Luzerne County Central Court.
In the criminal complaint, state police allege Provatopoulos pocketed cash ranging from $20 to $650 from Sept. 10 to Oct. 2, totaling $1,670.
Cash was stolen while sorting and counting cash using counting machines at cash cage windows, and from tip jars during Party on the Patio events, the complaint alleges.
