WTAE Editorial: Postseason football returns to Pittsburgh

SPEAKING ON BEHALF OF THE EDITORIAL BOARD IS CHARLES W. WOLFERTZ III PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER OF WTAE. THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS ARE BACK IN THE NFL PLAYOFFS BY BEATING THE BALTIMORE RAVENS LAST SUNDAY NIGHT. THIS MONDAY NIGHT WILL BE THE FIRST HOME PLAYOFF GAME FOR THE STEELERS IN FIVE YEARS. AND THE REASON WHY AARON RODGERS WAS SIGNED THIS OFFSEASON. WHILE SUNDAY NIGHT WAS GREAT, THIS SEASON HAS NOT BEEN EASY OR CONSISTENT. EVEN THOUGH THE STEELERS RANKED 25TH IN THE LEAGUE IN TOTAL OFFENSE AND 26TH IN THE LEAGUE IN TOTAL YARDS ALLOWED, THIS TEAM HAS FOUND A WAY TO WIN. THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT THE PLAYOFFS DON’T CARE HOW YOU GOT IN. ONCE YOU’RE IN, YOU’RE DANGEROUS. WHILE THE TEXANS HAVE THE NUMBER ONE RANKED DEFENSE IN THE LEAGUE, THE STEELERS WILL NEED TO PLAY A COMPLETE GAME ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL TO WIN. YOU CAN WATCH THE GAME RIGHT HERE ON MONDAY NIGHT, WITH COVERAGE BEGINNING AT 7 P.M. WE BELIEVE MONDAY NIGHT IS ANOTHER CHANCE FOR THE STEELERS TO MAKE A TEAM MISERABLE IN JANUARY, JUST LIKE THEY DID THE BALTIMORE RAVENS. LET’S GO STEELERS.
