For the fifth year, the Olyphant Police Department, organized by Police Sergeant Lewis Kline, held a coat giveaway.
Working with the Dickson City Civic Center and the Throop Civic Center, the department identified people in need of winter coats, and, with help from Olyphant’s Volunteer Hose Company 2 and Ladder Co. 26, they packed and delivered gifts of Christmas bags.
The bags, which contained coats, hats, gloves, and other winter clothing items, were placed outside the Manor on Main venue in Dickson City. Multiple individuals and businesses, including Valley Truck Center, and NEPA Towing and Recovery donated to the cause.
