PennDOT maintenance crews will conduct road work at multiple locations across Northampton County from Monday, Jan. 12 through Friday, Jan. 16, with all projects scheduled between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays.
The work will affect major routes including Interstate 78, U.S. Route 22, and Pennsylvania Route 611, along with numerous local roads throughout the county. Rain may delay any of the scheduled projects, according to PennDOT.
Bridge inspection crews will close lanes on Route 22 in Bethlehem Township on Jan. 13 for the westbound lanes between Routes 33 and 191, and on Jan. 14 for the eastbound lanes between Routes 191 and 33.
Interstate 78 will see shoulder restrictions on multiple days in Williams Township and Lower Saucon Township. The westbound lanes between exits 75 and 71 will have restrictions on Jan. 12, while eastbound lanes between exits 71 and 75 will be restricted on Jan. 13. Additional shoulder work is scheduled through Jan. 16 at various I-78 locations.
Pothole patching will take place on Airport Road in East Allen Township from Jan. 12-13, on Cherryville Road in Northampton Borough on Jan. 14, and on Nor-Bath Boulevard in East Allen Township from Jan. 15-16. These projects will require lane restrictions with flagging.
In Lower Mount Bethel Township, maintenance work will affect South Delaware Drive from Jan. 12-14, Belvidere Road on Jan. 15, and Mount Pleasant Road on Jan. 16. These projects will not require traffic restrictions.
Additional maintenance work with lane restrictions and flagging is scheduled for West Bangor Road in Upper Mount Bethel Township on Jan. 12, South Delaware Drive in Williams Township from Jan. 12-14, Bingen Road in Lower Saucon Township from Jan. 15-16, Main Street in Chapman Borough on Jan. 12, and Scenic Drive in Moore Township from Jan. 15-16.
Work in Stockertown Borough will affect Main Street between Old Easton Road and Hillside Avenue from Jan. 13-14, and in Wind Gap Borough, maintenance is scheduled on Broadway Street from Jan. 15-16. Neither project will restrict traffic.
Shoulder restrictions are also planned for Route 412 in Lower Saucon Township on Jan. 16 between Black River Road and Seipstown Road.
