The Philadelphia Flyers have officially placed defenseman Jamie Drysdale on IR after suffering a hit from Ross Johnston during Tuesday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks.

In a corresponding move, the team has recalled defenseman Adam Ginning from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms (AHL).

Drysdale had been putting together quite the season, completely changing the narrative around his defensive game, becoming a steady defenseman.

The team has placed him on IR retroactive to January 6th.

In the same announcement, the team has said that both forwards Bobby Brink and Travis Konecny are considered to be day-to-day with upper-body injuries.

Brink exited the game vs. the Ducks in the first period, and Konecny left Thursday’s game vs. the Maple Leafs after the second period.

Both forwards are day-to-day. I would expect Konecny to be game-time decision for the Flyers Saturday matchup vs. the Tampa Bay Lightning.
