SCRANTON, Pa. — Runners and walkers lacing up their sneakers for the Shiver by the River race in Lackawanna County.
Kicking off this morning along West Olive Street in Scranton, racers followed the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail.
A portion of the proceeds went to the street cats and dogs of Nay Aug Zoo, and it also gave participants a friendly winter challenge.
Like 73-year-old Tom Carter from Binghamton.
“My children said I could run if I use this, so I got back in training and used this. Nothing hurts, it feels great,” said Carter.
Organizers say about 360 runners and and walkers participated in today’s race.
