ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of the Carbon County man who barricaded himself with a firearm in a Super 8 Hotel room in Allentown on Sunday morning. 

Mica R. Kincaid, 62, of Weissport, was pronounced dead on Sunday at 1:37 p.m. on-scene, according to officials. 

The cause of death is a gunshot wound, the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office reported. The manner of death was ruled a suicide. 

Pennsylvania State Police and Allentown police responded to the scene of the incident on Airport Road, according to officials. 

On Sunday at approximately 10:16 a.m., troopers attempted to serve an arrest warrant to Kincaid for a parole violation from Carbon County, according to the press release. 

Police say that the man was observed in the parking lot of the Super 8 Hotel, and fled from troopers into a room at the hotel where he barricaded himself with a firearm. 

Allentown Emergency Response Team (E.R.T.) responded to the scene and attempted to negotiate a peaceful surrender to police, according to authorities.

Police say that upon entry into the hotel room, Kincaid was found dead.

The incident is being investigation by Pennsylvania State Police.

Airport Road was closed between East Congress Street and Union Blvd. It was reopened at approximately 1:25 p.m., according to police.Â
