Albina E. Sebastian Seckary
OBITUARY
Albina E. Sebastian Seckary, 84, of Dunmore died Tuesday January 6, 2026 at the Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was the widow of Nicholas J. Seckary who died in 2007.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Nello and Zelinda Cascianelli Sebastian. She was a graduate of West Scranton High School, the Mercy School of Nursing and ultimately received her BSN in Nursing from Misericordia University. She was Head Nurse on 3 North at Mercy Hospital for many years prior to her retirement.
Albina was an extraordinary person. She was beautiful, caring, loving and compassionate. She touched the lives of her entire large extended family, and a multitude of friends, fellow nurses and patients. She never forgot a birthday, anniversary or important event. Her passions were her garden, reading, exercising at the YMCA, and the Dunmore Mac Club. She loved to travel throughout the USA, Europe and South America especially with Paula, Louie and Carol and also with her many girlfriends.
Albina’s family would like to thank the team of doctors and nurses of the Telemetry unit at Regional Hospital for their thorough and compassionate care, especially Doctors Thomas Roe, Matthew Stopper and Thomas Hopkins.
Surviving are sister-in-law Pauline Sebastian; nieces and nephews Donald Sebastian and wife Lu Anne, Dr. Linda and husband Dr. Bryan Frantz, Mary Ann Bakunas and husband Allan, John Sebastian and wife Christine, Attorney Michael Sebastian and wife Holly, Ann Marie Bonacci and husband Angelo, Charles Naegele and wife Arlene, Robert Naegele and wife Patricia, Neil Fogliani, Carol Ann Grudis and husband Thomas, Paul Sebastian and wife Linda, Frances Buckman and husband John; several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; and extended Seckary family.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Emil and Steve Fogliani, Carl and Louis Sebastian; sisters Pauline Naegele and Carol Miller; nephew Steve J. Fogliani.
The funeral will be conducted Monday from the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St. in Dunmore. Entombment Cathedral Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may pay their respects Monday morning from 9-10:30 am in funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Center, 2010 Adams Ave, Scranton, PA 18509.
