Former U.S. Rep. Susan Wild will discuss President Trump’s “America First” foreign policy during the opening session of the Great Decisions Lecture Series, 11 a.m. Jan. 28 at Kirkland Village in Bethlehem. The lecture series is sponsored by Northampton Community College.

Wild represented the Lehigh Valley from 2019 through 2024, when she chaired the House Ethics Committee. Since leaving Congress, she continues to address community issues such as health care access, drug and child care costs, Lehigh Valley manufacturing opportunities and environmental concerns.

Wild’s presentation is the first of eight lectures on current American foreign policy issues identified by the Foreign Policy Association in NYC, a private, nonpartisan think tank. The local Great Decisions Committee leads this program, which runs Wednesdays from Jan. 28 through March 18 at Kirkland Village.

Other topics will include “Ukraine and European Security,” “Multilateral Institutions in a Changing World Order,” “U.S. Engagement in Africa,” “Human Rights & International Law,” “Alliances & Nuclear Proliferation,” “Trump Tariff’s & the Global Economy,” and “U.S.-China Relations.”  A $35 briefing book produced by the Foreign Policy Association is provided for each registrant. Program cost is $100 per person or $135 per couple. Attendance fee at the door is $20.
