Angela Colombo

OBITUARY

Angela Colombo, 90, beloved mother to five children, a loving grandmother to five grandchildren, great-grandmother to one, and a lifelong devout Catholic, passed away on January 1, 2026, at her home in Clarks Summit, PA.

Angela was born on January 7, 1935, in Scranton, PA. She grew up in the Green Ridge area of Scranton and spent summers at Lake Winola, the place of her fondest childhood memories. She adored her childhood dog Skippy. Then she lived most of her life in the Abingtons. Angela attended St. Paul’s Catholic School and later graduated from The University of Scranton with a degree in science and business. Angela subsequently worked at Lackawanna College as the coordinator of the Act 120 Police Training Program. Before and after retiring from this position, she worked as a realtor and continued this work until she was 85.

Angela lived a long and fulfilling life that is hard to capture in so few words, but her friends, family, and faith were elements of her life that she valued most.

Angela enjoyed traveling and found joy taking trips with her close friend Elsie and day trips boating with her son and grandsons on the Hudson River, NY. When not traveling or working, she was happiest spending time with her family. Angela took immense pride in staying engaged with her children and grandchildren. She loved hosting holiday gatherings where they could all spend time together. She cherished attending sporting events or first holy communion for her grandkids, talking to her sons about progress on their construction projects, enjoying a nice breakfast at a local diner with one of her kids or grandkids, or helping her grandson build a snowman on a cold winter day. Throughout Angela’s life, one thing was certain: she adored spending time with the family she loved dearly. When she wasnt spending time with her family, she loved to pass time working on puzzles, nurturing her flowers and plants, enjoying some ice cream, and staying devoted to her Catholic faith. Angela was a member of Our Lady of the Snows church.

Angela will be deeply missed, especially her calming presence, her compassion for others, her humility, and her love for exchanging stories over a good cup of coffee with friends and family.
