PITTSBURGH — Welcome to our live coverage of Monday night’s AFC wild-card playoff showdown between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans. The winner will face the New England Patriots on Sunday in the AFC divisional round.
This game features two of the AFC’s hottest teams heading into the playoffs.
After a 3-5 start, Houston (12-5) won nine consecutive games, including three victories over eventual playoff teams. The Texans’ winning streak has been the byproduct of an emerging young receiving corps, the steady play of quarterback C.J. Stroud and a defense that finished No. 2 in the NFL in points allowed during the regular season.
Pittsburgh (10-7) is coming off a dramatic, last-second win over the Ravens that clinched its first division crown since 2020. After a 6-6 start, the Steelers won four of their final five games while getting clutch performances from Aaron Rodgers, who is back in the playoffs for the first time since 2021. Rodgers will once again have wide receiver DK Metcalf at his disposal after he was suspended for Pittsburgh’s final two regular-season games.
