The National Hockey League’s Central Scouting Service released its midseason rankings Tuesday. Two current Erie Otters and a former player were listed among the top North American skaters.
Defenseman Lucas Ambrosio was ranked the 82nd North American skater. Central Scouting currently projects as a third-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft, according to Central Scouting. He has a goal and 11 points in 39 games this season. A 6’3”, 194 lb left-shot defenseman, Ambrosio is in his second season with the Otters.
The other Otter listed is Kase Kamzik, who was the 208-ranked player. He is projected as a seventh-round selection by Central Scouting. The Johnstown, PA native joined the Otters in a late-November trade with Sarnia that sent Tyler Challenger to the Sting.
In 19 games with Erie, Kamzik has a goal and five points.
A former Otter was also listed on the mid-term report. Wesley Royston was ranked 51st among North American players, projected as a second-round selection.
Royston was traded on Halloween to Owen Sound for Michael Dec. He has seven goals and 10 points in 23 games.
