Man dead, woman in the hospital, after fire in Pittsburgh’s Lincoln-Lemington Belmar neighborhood

A man is dead and a woman was taken to the hospital after fire broke out inside of a home in Pittsburgh’s East Liberty neighborhood.The fire was reported a little before 2:30 a.m. Wednesday on the 6600 block of Apple Street.Responding firefighters found the man in a second-floor bedroom and took him out a window and down a ladder.He later died at the scene.A woman, who the battalion chief described as the man’s wife, was taken to the hospital.Fire investigators are now working to determine the cause of the fire.

A man is dead and a woman was taken to the hospital after fire broke out inside of a home in Pittsburgh’s East Liberty neighborhood.

The fire was reported a little before 2:30 a.m. Wednesday on the 6600 block of Apple Street.

Responding firefighters found the man in a second-floor bedroom and took him out a window and down a ladder.

He later died at the scene.
