Lucille H. McCracken
OBITUARY
Lucille H. McCracken, 97, of Bethlehem, passed away on October 14, 2025 in the home of her daughter and son-in-law. Her husband of 50 years, Dr. Leslie Guy McCracken, died in 1998. Born in Guthsville, Lucille was a daughter of the late Ralph and Edna (Laudenslager) Herbert.
Lucille began her career as the secretary to the Dean of Women at Penn State University, transitioned through several other positions, and served as secretary of The Community Chest, Bethlehem, before retiring to begin her family. A current member of Nativity Lutheran Church, Allentown, she was a life long member of Salem Lutheran Church, Bethlehem, before it closed. While at Salem she sang in the church choir and was active in WELCA. She served on the Annual Messiah Sing-A-Long committee for many years.
Surviving are a daughter, LuAnn and her husband Robert Fletcher of Allentown; a grandson, Andrew Fletcher of New York City; brother-in-law, James Burrell of Bethlehem; nieces, Sharon Burrell of Bethlehem and Barbara Wentworth of Wisconsin; and nephew, Brian Burrell of Bethlehem. She was predeceased by her sister Radell Burell.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 22, in the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden Street, Bethlehem, followed by burial in Grandview Cemetery, Allentown. A calling hour will precede the service from 10:00 – 11:00 AM.
