The Oil City Firefighters have released this statement in regard to the search for missing person, Jacob Firster Jr.
“The members of the Oil City Firefighters Local 700 have worked tirelessly over the past several days conducting extensive search operations along the Allegheny River.
Unfortunately, these efforts did not result in the outcome we had hoped for. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the numerous agencies and resources that assisted in this operation, dedicating countless hours and unwavering effort. We also thank the citizens of our community for the overwhelming support shown throughout this situation.
For safety reasons, we strongly advise against any independent search efforts. Please allow trained personnel to continue their work safely and effectively.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.”
