Veterans tiles: The Archbald Borough Veterans Monument Park Committee will be accepting applications for veterans tiles to be placed in the Veterans Park on Jan. 26 from 6-8 p.m. in the basement of Christ the King Church, 429 Church St. There is a limited number of spaces available. Each unique tile honors a specific service member and includes their branch, era of service and option to add your veteran’s photograph(s), medals, ribbons, logos and/or patches. For a donation of $550, the custom-designed, 18-by-12-inch polished and laser-etched, black granite tiles will be displayed on the Monument Park wall. Garbage/recycling collection: City Hall and the Department of Public Works will be off Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Both garbage and recycling pickup will be one day behind for the week.
