The Springfield–Upper Darby football game was postponed Friday following a bomb threat on the Upper Darby campus.

Upper Darby Police, which referred to it as a case of swatting, said it “remains an active investigation” in a post on Facebook, adding, “while details are limited, we want to assure our community that there is no active threat to students, staff, or the public. The safety of our schools is our top priority.”

The incident caused an evacuation of the school Friday afternoon, per the Upper Darby School District’s official social media accounts, and an early dismissal of students. That led to the cancellation of after-school activities for the day.

The game, originally set for 5 p.m., is tentatively rescheduled for Monday at 3:45 at Upper Darby.

The Cougars (4-0) are aiming to stay atop the Central League standings, while the Royals (1-3) look to rebound from back-to-back losses.
