A judge has ruled in favor of Bucks County following a lawsuit about a contract between the county sheriff and ICE.

The Butler County Sheriff’s office is one of many police forces in Pennsylvania that signed the 287(g) agreement with ICE.

A challenge to the legality of these agreements was made in Bucks County.

The judge ruled that the plaintiffs in the case, made up of civil rights organizations and a Bucks County resident, claimed the agreement violated Pennsylvania law.

But the judge ruled the plaintiffs lacked legal standing due to the lack of harm from the agreement yet to go into effect.
