ROBESONIA, Pa. – Authorities have released the identity of the woman struck and killed while trying to cross a busy road in western Berks County Wednesday night.
65-year-old Sherry Yoh of North Heidelberg Township sustained critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle on W. Penn Avenue near S. Brooke Street in Robesonia Borough around 6:30 p.m. yesterday.
South Heidelberg Police Department (SHPD) responded and determined Yoh had parked her vehicle on the north side of Penn Avenue to meet family waiting on the south side.
Witnesses told investigators Yoh began crossing Penn Avenue from north to south and was struck by an eastbound vehicle.
Police say several drivers stopped to render aid to the victim, but Yoh was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the striking vehicle remained on scene and is fully cooperating with the ongoing police investigation.
