Multi-vehicle crash reported on Lincoln Drive

PHILADELPHIA – One person is dead after investigators say he was ejected during a head-on crash involving three cars overnight Thursday in Philadelphia.

What we know:

Eric Sullivan, 65, was driving on Lincoln Drive around 9 p.m. when he crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a Mercedes carrying three people, including an 8-year-old girl.

Sullivan’s 1997 Toyota 4Runner continued into another car before coming to a stop, investigators say. He was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three people in the Mercedes were taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center and placed in stable condition. 

What we don’t know:

The condition of the occupants in the third vehicle is not known.

Investigators have not said what may have caused Sullivan to cross into oncoming traffic.
