Store workers told police they had received phone calls and emails asking about the delivery which they considered suspicious. Bensalem Public Safety Director William McVey told CBS Philadelphia the trio traveled two hours from New York City leading him to believe the pharmacy was likely targeted.

“It’s interesting when someone travels over two hours to one specific pharmacy in our township to do something like this. It was definitely targeted. but yes, very interesting with the type of medication are going after,” McVey told CBS Philadelphia.

Pharmacist Jigar “Jay” Patel told CBS Philadelphia the medications, which include GLP-1 weight loss drugs, can cost $1,000 without insurance likely creating a potential black market for the hard-to-find medications. McVey warned other pharmacists to be wary if they receive similar calls about deliveries.

Dupree and Dawkins are charged with robbery, theft, receiving stolen property, simple assault, and related offenses They are being held at the Bucks County Correctional Facility on bail. The juvenile male is at the Bucks County Youth Detention Center.
