PennDOT has reduced speeds on Interstate 78, Route 22 and other highways due to the winter storm bring snow to the region.

PennDOT urges motorists to avoid unnecessary travel. The speed has been reduced to 45 mph on the following highways:

I-78 in Berks, Lehigh and Northampton counties
Route 22 in Lehigh and Northampton countis
Route 33 in Monroe and Northampton counties
I-80 in Carbon and Monroe counties
I-81 in Schuylkill County
I-380 in Monroe County

The Lehigh Valley is under a winter weather advisory until 4 p.m. Saturday. Between 2 and 3 inches of snow is expected in Lehigh, Northampton and Berks counties, with higher amounts in some spots. The highest accumulation is expected in areas north of I-78.
