(WHTM) — PennDOT announced it is reducing speed limits on multiple highways in Pennsylvania.

PennDOT says the following roads will be restricted to a 45 mph speed limit:

Interstate 78 in Berks, Lehigh, and Northampton counties.

Interstate 80 in Carbon and Monroe counties.

Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County.

Interstate 380 in Monroe County.

PennDOT states that commercial vehicles traveling on these roads must move to the right lane if they are not subject to these restrictions.

PennDOT crews have been treating the roadways in an effort to keep the roads passable and free of ice and snow. Roadways will continue to be treated throughout the storm until it stops and roads are clear, per PennDOT.
