A man wanted on multiple warrants was taken into custody after police said he was found hiding in the attic of a home in Pittsburgh on Friday. The Allegheny County Sheriff’s office said Davon James, 32, had been wanted by police for the last month after probation violation warrants were issued in two cases that involved guilty pleas to firearms violations. An active warrant was also out for several charges, including strangulation, simple assault, and robbery. Police said detectives found that James was at a home along Hubbard Street on the North Side. Detectives arrived on Friday and conducted a search of the home. As officials were prepared to leave, the office said in a release, officials noticed an attic access opening in the ceiling. Detectives used a ladder to reach the opening, and when they looked inside, they immediately saw what “appeared to be hair braids sticking out of the installation.”Officials said they ordered James, who was covered by the installation, out of the attic. He surrendered to police without further incident, the release said. He is now being held in the Allegheny County Jail. Download the WTAE app to stay connected with breaking news.
