Crews are responding to a house fire amid freezing temperatures Saturday evening in South Side Bethlehem.
The fire in the 1200 block of Mechanic Street, at the intersection with Hobart Street, was reported just before 8 p.m., according to the Northampton County Emergency Alerts Facebook page. Fire officials later struck a third alarm on the blaze.
Photos shared by the Lehigh Valley Breaking News Facebook page showed heavy smoke coming from the back of a twin home.
Firefighters battled the blaze as temperatures dropped into the mid 20s, well below freezing, following a snowstorm that dumped 5 inches of snow over parts of the Lehigh Valley.
