ALLENTOWN, Pa. – An Allentown nightclub that has been a presence in the community for over four decades has closed its doors for good.
In a message posted on his Facebook page, Maingate Nightclub owner Dominic Germano provided an update on his decision to close the club.
Citing past issues like noise complaints and security concerns and current ones such as ongoing legal battles and rising entertainment costs, Germano has decided to permanently shut down the business his parents founded in 1980. Due to these issues and more, Germano says Maingate has yet to open its doors in 2025.Â
Germano says the future of the property is uncertain, but he is currently using the former club space as a cat shelter inhabited by several felines.
As for future plans, Germano says he will still be in the area at the nearby Fairgrounds Hotel as the business’ owner/chef.
