EASTON, Pa. – We hope you’re hungry because Easton’s Restaurant Week is back with mouth-watering meals and special menus!

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and at Billy’s Downtown Diner in Easton, they’re serving up meals and deals during Easton Restaurant Week that kicked off Sunday.

“Despite the weather, we still had an abundance of guests come in seeking the restaurant week menu, so it was a great turnout overall,” said Dominica DeFrancisco, the General Manager and Operations Manager at Billy’s Downtown Diner.

Happening in both January and July, this is the city’s 18th year hosting restaurant week. Organizers say they hope to draw in customers during slower months.

“Everybody has a special menu for restaurant week. Most are a fixed menu at a fixed price, so you get two or three courses at one price,” Christine Piper said, the Director of Easton Restaurant Week.

This helps families budget out their meals at more than twenty restaurants taking part in the event.

Delectable items like this hefty serving of squid ink pasta at River Grille on Northampton Street is an option up for grabs in its three course meal at $42.95.

“We’re trying to be economical as well in these times. Everybody spends money everywhere for things that they don’t expect to pay that much for, so we’re trying to offer a good value,” Chip Muntean said, the Operation Manager with Gusto Restaurant Group.

Muntean says it’s a way to show customers they appreciate them after 23 years in business.

But for others, like Kabinett, they’re hoping for more exposure while offering new dishes for the event that runs through Saturday.

“To encourage people to discover newer restaurants, and I think that’s really important. Being a new restaurant, only three years old, it’s great that people can be like, ‘We didn’t know about you this is amazing’,” said Jason Hoy, the Owner of Kabinett.
