(WJET/WFXP)– Several municipal infrastructure projects around Erie County received a bump in funding Tuesday, with state lawmakers awarding just over $4.2 million in grants.
Local elected officials announced the grants for water system upgrades, along with pedestrian walkways around town, the largest of which is $1.4 million to the Erie Western PA Port Authority to extend and upgrade the East Bluffs Shared Use Path.

Several municipalities around Erie County also received hundreds of thousands in funding to make upgrades and repairs to their water systems, with water and sewer projects receiving $2,059,362.
In addition to the upgrades on the East Bluffs Shared Use Path, lawmakers awarded funding to two bridge projects in the county, bringing the total funding to $2,150,000 for multimodal transportation projects.
