The Pittsburgh Steelers are signing former Seattle Seahawks offensive lineman Sataoa Laumea to a future’s contract, the team announced.

A standout out of Utah in the 2024 NFL Draft, Laumea played offensive tackle and guard throughout the process. He was s sixth-round pick by Seattle and lasted through his entire rookie season with the group.

Laumea was released in September from the team and promptly landed with the New Orleans saints for a month, but he was released in October.

The Steelers are the first team to ink Laumea since the Saints released him. He is one of a slew of offensive lineman the Steelers signed to future’s contracts, including Steven Jones and Doug Nester, who spent their year with the Steelers on the practice squad.

Laumea’s size stands out, standing at 6-foot-4, 319 pounds, which is prototypical size for the NFL. During his time in college, Laumea primarily played at right tackle, but the Seahawks started him off as a versatile player who could play tackle and guard.

The Steelers’ front office is continuing to make moves and build the 2026 roster despite not having a head coach around to put their say in on roster decisions as that search continues.
