ELK COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Emergency officials in Elk County say three people were killed Tuesday in an early morning house fire in Highland Township.
State police say firefighters were called to the area of Massachusetts Avenue, in the Village of James City, around 3:30 a.m., for reports of a residential fire.
Investigators say the bodies of three victims — a 76-year-old man, a 78-year-old woman and a 21-year-old woman — were all found dead on scene.
Police say a fourth occupant of the home was taken to an area hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, officials note that the home was destroyed in the blaze.
