She fell in love with figure skating at age 3 after watching the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. Levito’s mother, Chiara Garberi—who emigrated from Italy in 1997—enrolled her in ice skating to reward her for finishing meals and to improve her balance. Levito quickly rose through the ranks, winning the 2018 U.S. juvenile title, placing third at the U.S. Championships at 14, and then becoming world junior champion, the first U.S. woman to do so in 14 years. Heo made his first U.S. national team at 17 and debuted at Beijing 2022, placing seventh in the 1,000 meters.
