SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — The Scranton Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing juvenile reported earlier this week.
Police say 11-year-old Skylar Martinez was last seen around 8:30 a.m. on January 21 in the 300 block of Maple Street. The disappearance was reported the same day, and officers have been actively working to locate him.
Skylar is described as a Black/African American male, standing between 5 feet and 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing approximately 100 to 120 pounds. At the time he was last seen, police say he was wearing a black-on-black varsity jacket with leather sleeves, black sweatpants, black Nike sneakers, and a black Nike sweatshirt. He was also carrying a clear backpack.
Authorities urge anyone who may have seen Skylar or has information about his whereabouts to contact Scranton Police School Resource Officer P. Perry by email or call the Scranton Police Department desk at 570-348-4134. Tips may also be submitted anonymously through the department’s online tip system.
Police stress that members of the public should not approach Skylar if they see him. Instead, they are asked to immediately call 911 or the Scranton Police Department.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police are encouraging residents to stay alert and share information that could help bring Skylar home safely.
