HARRISBURG — Rep. Donna Scheuren, R-147th Dist., announced that Douglass Township in Montgomery County has been awarded a grant by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development through the Multimodal Transport Fund.
This funding totals $232,925 and, along with prior grant funding, will be used to replace the bridge on County Line Road over Swamp Creek. It will be a total bridge replacement, with the construction of a new bridge for the area.
Rep. Donna Scheuren
“This is really excellent news for the people of Douglass Township and the surrounding community,” said Scheuren. “The road in question has been shut down because the current bridge structure is unsafe, and this grant allows for the project to begin and move toward reopening this section of County Line Road. I also want to thank Sen. Pennycuick for her support on this project as well, as her advocacy was a huge help in securing this funding.”
Funds from the MTF may be used for the development, rehabilitation and enhancement of transportation assets to existing communities, streetscape, lighting, sidewalk enhancement, pedestrian safety, connectivity of transportation assets and transit-oriented development.
