DELMAR, PA (WENY) — One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Wellsboro. According to Pennsylvania State Police, the crash happened at the intersection of Route 287 and Calkins Road in Delmar Township.
The crash happened around 5:40 P.M. on Friday, October 17. Police say the driver of a Toyota Tacoma was turning left onto SR 287 when a BMW motorcycle collided with the vehicle.
Poplice say the driver of the motorcycle was 70-year old David Rothman. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the driver of the Tacoma was a 74-year old from Wellsboro. The driver reported no injuries.
A witness at the scene said she was just passed by a the pair of motorcycles on SR 287 in a no passing zone at a high speed before the collision.
PSP was assisted by Wellsboro Fire Company, Wellsboro Ambulance, Susquehanna Regional EMS, Penn DOT and the Tioga County Coroner’s Office.
