On Wednesday Jan. 21 a major fire erupted at the Hensa Stamping building on Pennsylvania Avenue in Corry. Due to the severity of the fire, a significant amount of water had been used in the efforts to control the flames.

The City of Corry had asked that all water consumers conserve water as much as possible allowing for the water supply in the City of Corry to replenish. The water was still safe to use however some residents may have experienced some water discoloration from brown to purple in color.

Pennsylvania Avenue had been closed to traffic, and it is still undetermined when the road will be accessible to traffic. All motorists in the area have been asked to use alternative routes until further notice.

As of 8 a.m. today Jan. 22 water no longer needs conserved, and any further updates will be made if this changes.

A local volunteer fire fighter shared these images and would like to remind all of how dangerously quick a fire can spread and the importance of fire safety, especially in the workplace.
