Pennsylvania State Police say the report of a suspicious male at a Lackawanna Trail elementary school bus stop Thursday was the case of an elderly man who mistook a 10-year-old for his grandson.
The original report indicated the boy was approached by a man in vehicle at a bus stop at the Tall Timbers Residential Community in LaPlume Township at about 3:45 p.m.
Parents were encouraged to be “highly vigilant” at district bus stops.
“Troopers believe there was no malice or criminal nature surrounding this incident after a thorough investigation,” troopers said in a release Friday.
State police worked in coordination with the district to complete the investigation.
