EASTON, Pa. – The City of Easton has declared a snow emergency due to winter weather that is expected to significantly impact travel and roadway safety in the region.

The emergency is effective beginning Saturday, January 24 at 5 p.m. through Tuesday, January 27 at noon.

During the event, parking is prohibited on all designated snow emergency routes, and vehicles parked in violation of posted restrictions may be ticketed and/or towed at the owner’s expense. Parking may not resume on these routes until the emergency is lifted.

The routes are posted with snow emergency signage and are published on the City of Easton website, including an official route map.

Easton residents who live along snow emergency routes are permitted to park in either the S. Third Street Garage or the N. 4th Street Garage beginning at 5 p.m. on Saturday the 24th without charge. Snow emergency patrons are required to have their vehicles removed by 12 p.m. on 1/27. Any vehicles found illegally parked in the garage for this event will be charged accordingly.

Trash and recycling pickup will be postponed by one day all week starting Tuesday 1/27. The city’s drop-off recycling center on Bushkill Drive will be closed on Sunday, Tuesday, & Thursday next week.

Easton residents are strongly encouraged to:

Avoid non-essential travel during the storm.

Remove vehicles from snow emergency routes.

Clear snow from sidewalks and fire hydrants adjacent to their property.

Allow additional time for emergency responders and plow operations.

Residents are also reminded not to throw snow onto plowed streets.
