Bensalem Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo issued the snow emergency Friday in the wake of this weekend’s winter storm.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo has signed a “Declaration of Disaster Emergency” in advance of the impending snowstorm forecast to hit the region this weekend.

The National Weather Service said the region may receive between 12-18 inches of snow.

The mayor said that Bensalem Township has activated all emergency preparedness operations to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.

The Bensalem Police Department has established its Emergency Operations Center and will be fully staffed to respond to any incident throughout the storm.

Residents are encouraged to plan ahead and use caution if travel is necessary:

Allow extra travel time and slow down
Clear snow and ice from your vehicle before driving
Avoid unnecessary travel during hazardous conditions
Check on elderly neighbors and those who may need assistance

Mayor DiGirolamo said that the township’s police officers and emergency partners remain ready to respond to the storm. For emergencies, residents should call 911.
