In a display of compassion and community spirit, a group of local medical professionals recently traded their scrubs for aprons to volunteer at the St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen in Scranton. Doctors and staff from the Northeast Counties Medical Society spent the morning prepping food items and preparing meals to serve to individuals and families facing food insecurity. This initiative is part of an ongoing outreach program aimed at strengthening ties between health care providers and the communities they serve beyond the walls of hospitals and clinics.
