Jan Klohonatz

OBITUARY

Jan Klohonatz, 67, of Larkspur, CA, passed away on January 2, 2026 in Larkspur.

Jan was born in Peckville to John and Otilia Klohonatz on March 7, 1958. He attended St. Mary’s Visitation Parochial School and Bishop O’Hara High School, where he graduated in 1976. He went on to earn a business degree double-majoring in Accounting and Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors in 1980. He then earned a law degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1983. He worked as an associate at three law firms in the San Francisco area for 9 years before settling in with the law firm of Taylor & Co in San Francisco for 14 years prior to stepping out to establish his own private practice for another 20 years. Jan enjoyed traveling during his earlier years, including two trips around the world. He was an avid sports enthusiast, especially basketball. Jan was awarded the Weinrott scholarship and the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs graduation award.

At his death, Jan was survived by his father, John Klohonatz of Dickson City who has also since passed. He is still survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Joy Klohonatz of Greensburg, PA; a niece, Kristin Klohonatz of Newark, Delaware; and a nephew and his wife, Nicholas and Alison Klohonatz.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Otilia Klohonatz of Dickson City and now his father, John.

Jan’s funeral will be Tuesday, January 27th, 2026, at 9:30am in the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, PA, 18519, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City, Monsignor Patrick Pratico celebrating. Interment, St. Mary’s Visitation Cemetery, Dickson City. Friends and family may call Monday, January 26th, from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
